Bungie Scrambles to Ask Fans Why They Haven't Played 'Destiny' Lately
Bungie has been curious, and it has nothing to do about a game's concept, but rather the declining number of "Destiny" players. According to Gamespot, a Reddit user apparently encountered Bungie's survey asking why they haven't been playing "Destiny" lately. Despite Activision's latest record of 25 million active "Destiny" players, Bungie sees a decline and has conducted a survey to know why some haven't played the game.
The survey questionnaire includes several answer options to the question, "Why haven't you been playing Destiny lately?" It also includes the question whether players would reconsider coming back and play the game or not.
Last week, Bungie replaced its long Harold Ryan for Pete Parsons as CEO. In his statement, Parsons said, "To the players of 'Destiny,' I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie's, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together. I believe that 'Destiny' is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio's best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise."
According to IGN, registered players of Bungie were sent an email asking whether they still enjoy playing "Destiny". They also encouraged their fans to rate their experience in playing the video game, in hopes of getting to the root of the problem.
In Gamespot's report, there have been few times that Bungie failed to release concrete information about the game's next installment. Apparently, the expected "Destiny 2," which is said to come out this September, will not be happening. The development of the game has also been far from being smooth as the company was unable to release a statement that reveals the next concept to expect of the game.
On the Bungie website, the company confirmed Parson's installation as the new CEO of the company, while Harold will step down as the studio president. With the latest revamp in the company's officials, Parsons also said, "I want to personally thank Harold for his friendship, passion, hard work, and dedication in helping make Bungie the great company it is today. As a team, we celebrated many victories and weathered many storms."
Bungie has also declared their commitment to the development of "Destiny." Have you also stopped playing "Destiny" lately? What can the "Destiny" developer do to make you play the game again?
