For her third installment of "Movement Mondays," shared on Feb. 8, actress Gina Rodriguez presented her followers with some background on Mexican-American director Robert Rodriguez.

In her new post, Rodriguez explained the director, who is also a screenwriter, film editor and producer, is an advocate for hiring Latino talent. Because of this, he is helping make a difference and preparing them for Hollywood.

"By hiring Latino directors and writers he is giving them opportunities to enter the industry as professionals with great work on their resume, prepared for success," she explained. " He is hiring Latino actors for roles we seldom get the opportunity to play. Having artists in his position of power and utilizing it to advance the community is why Robert is my #movementMondays..."

The actress also praised Rodriguez for creating his own network, El Rey Network, to further ensure that Latinos get more opportunities.

"Let us support El Rey Network and the many shows coming out of that network so that Robert may continue to hire and put Latinos on the map!" she said. "I am inspired and in awe of this amazing trailblazer!"

El Rey Network is currently the home of Rodriguez's series "From Dusk Till Dawn," which stars Latino actors Wilmer Valderrama, Jesse Garcia and Eiza González. The series has helped propel the career of González, a telenovela actress currently making her crossover to American television who plays vampire Santanico Pandemonium on the show.

Rodriguez's other works include "Desperado," "The Faculty," the "Machete" franchise, the "Sin City" franchise and the "Spy Kids" film series.

Through his films Rodriguez has helped launch or supported the careers of Latino stars like Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Benicio del Toro, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Jordana Brewster, Alexa PenaVega, Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez and Sofia Vergara.

Recently, Rodriguez also got together with Latina singer and actress Demi Lovato, who guest starred on Season 2 of "From Dusk Till Dawn," to direct her music video for her hit "Confident."

The director, who shared the news on Instagram, cast Michelle Rodriguez to play Lovato's rival in the action film-like video.

On Feb. 9, the director thanked the "Jane the Virgin" star for the post on his Instagram account and wrote, "Thank you for the kind words @HereIsGina! You are truly an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work!"

In her first two "Movement Mondays" posts, Rodriguez introduced her followers to actors Oscar Isaac and Rosa Salazar.
