The Oscar producers have promised that this year's ceremony will be one of the most diverse in years.

Oscar producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin told Variety during the Oscar Luncheon that this year's Academy Awards "will have true diversity and will represent what the world looks like."

The statement comes only a few weeks after the Academy nominated only white actors in the four main acting categories. A number of celebrities have voiced their opinions on the issue and some even threatened to boycott. It also comes in the aftermath of the Academy changing rules for member eligibility.

From the look of presenters this year, the Academy has chosen to make sure that Asians, blacks and Latinos are involved in the event, even if they are not nominated. Presenters include Kerry Washington, Whoopi Goldberg, Priyanka Chopra and Byung-hun Lee. Benicio del Toro, Kevin Hart and Pharrell Williams.

Although not a single black, Latino or Asian actor is nominated for acting, a number of ethnicities are represented in diverse technical categories. For example, Jordan and Colombia are represented in the Foreign Language category, while Mexico is represented in the Best Director category. Blacks are represented in the Best Song category.

The fact that all these actors have decided on attending the Academy Awards is an interesting trend considering the fact that many including Ludacris, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith and Spike Lee have spoken out against the lack of diversity. The conversation has also included Oscar winners Lupita Nyong'o, Common and Steve McQueen.
