'Final Fantasy 9' for iOS and Android Rolls Out; Here Are 5 Things We Like About It
“Final Fantasy IX,” which is arguably the best version in the entire franchise, is rolling out on the iOS and Android. Here are five things to watch out for in the new platform edition.
1. It is coming to Steam, too.
“FF9” for iOS and Android was released in February 2016 after it was first announced in November 2015. The Steam version does not have an official release date at the moment, writes Engadget, although the store page indicated that it will arrive early in 2016. The mobile version of the game is priced at $17. The Steam version will most likely be pegged at the same amount.
2. It has high-definition character models.
Venture Beat revealed that the latest edition boasts of high-quality graphics, with the characters being displayed excellently at high resolutions. The high attention to detail and image quality is expected to provide an engaging experience for all mobile gamers. Up to 8GB of free space is required to install the game, which only means that the graphics and content have not been compromised.
3. New features
“Final Fantasy 9” on iOS and Android also comes with several new features, such as the ability to shut off random encounters. There are in-game achievements, auto-saving and the ability to control the game fully via the touchscreen of the mobile device.
4. Game boosters
The collection allows players to virtually cheat their way through the entire game. Players can make time run faster, hit enemies for 9,999 damage and avoid random battles. The objective of boosters is to make the game more playable for casual users.
5. It gives hints about the arrival of more “Final Fantasy” mobile versions.
The game franchise has garnered thousands of fans through the years. Venture Beat noted that Square Enix continues to create mobile versions of the classic titles, which continue to be embraced by players. “Final Fantasy Tactics” is currently the highest-ranked mobile re-release by Square Enix, followed by “Final Fantasy VI.” The availability of “FF9” can mean that the company will most likely keep producing more iterations of the hit titles as long as the fan base is maintained.
According to Touch Arcade, “FF9” is the best mobile port in the franchise at present. The new version felt like it was specifically built just for the platform. The user interface was recreated from scratch for players to fully appreciate the touch capabilities and enhanced graphics.
