"Supernatural" is still pitting the Winchester against the all-powerful but beautiful Darkness a.k.a. Amara. In the upcoming episode 14 dubbed "The Vessel," Sam and Dean will turn back the clock in an attempt to defeat their most formidable foe yet.

The promo for the next "Supernatural" episode has been released, giving fans their first peek at what's in store in the next episode, according to a report from We Got This Covered. It looks like the team will be taking a step in the right direction to beat Amara (Emily Swallow) with a weapon called the Hand of God that they believe is designed for that purpose. Guess where this magical weapon was last spotted? 1944.

"It's back to the fuhrer," the trailer revealed. "The devil and the deep blue sea."

Part of the synopsis from We Got This Covered read, "Lucifer sees the potential in getting his hands on this weapon so goes along as Castiel and sends Dean to 1944 to the fated submarine mission that sunk the Hand of God."

The brothers will be working together, but it's an episode that will see them split up as Dean (Jensen Ackles) goes back to the past to find a weapon that might destroy Amara. He will have a tough as he will be attempting to retrieve a sunken weapon from the depths of the sea.

Sam will be staying behind with Lucifer who's in Castiel's (Misha Collins) body. Is it finally time for the Winchesters to figure out that it's not exactly Castiel they've been working with all this time?

Last month, showrunner Jeremy Carver spoke to Entertainment Weekly to discuss the second half of Season 11. In the interview, he raved about the next episode that will see a whole different period in time with interesting characters and settings.

"We will be going back in time for an episode and we will be essentially spending an episode on a World War II-era submarine with American soldiers of the time," Carver said. "It's basically our version of Das Boot. The whole production team has just done an absolutely astounding job, so that's a really cool episode."

"Supernatural" Season 11 is also set to feature a slew of returning favorites. Sheriff Jody Mills already made an appearance with her two surrogate daughters and Winchester projects Alex and Claire in a previous episode. Even better, Bobby and Rufus will be back for at least an episode that will be "cool, scary, nostalgic" according to Carver.

"Supernatural" Season 11 airs on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on The CW.
