LeBron James Wary of Cool Down With NBA All Star Break
The NBA All Star weekend has finally come to a close and one person is likely to be glad that it is over so that he and his team can resume their run.
Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James wasn’t exactly thrilled with the break, saying that it came at a bad time since his team was on a roll before the All Star break sunk in.
Before the break, the Cavs won 8 of their last 10 matches that included a string of three wins. Though he admits that the break would be a great way for his teammates to get some rest, he hopes the momentum of the Cavs will not be hampered with the time off.
"The worst thing that could have happened to us is the All-Star break. Seven days, we haven't played since Wednesday; we won't play again until Thursday. So that's the worst thing that could happen," James said via USA Today during the All Star practice last Saturday.
Appearing on his 12th All Star game, James knows however that this is the stage where the greats come together and try to give fans a show.
"The NBA, this is our biggest stage. It's the most media coverage that we're going to get and we have all the greatest athletes, all the greatest fans here in one venue and it's always an honor to be here."
James was on the losing end of the main event where the West All Star won, 196-173 per Yahoo Sports. Russell Westbrook ran away with MVP honors, his second time in a row after winning it last year.
For his part, James managed to chip in only 13 markers though it was enough for him to surpass the retiring Kobe Bryant. When the game was over, James saw himself with 291 total points, while Bryant ended up with 290.
James later on tweeted: "It means absolutely nothing”

With the break over and done with, James is more concerned about what the remaining regular season wars have in store for him and the Cavs.
Though the Cavs are expected to be in the postseason show, James is dialed in and knows that he and his teammates cannot afford any slip-ups if they are bent on winning their first-ever NBA title.
"The game of basketball is more mental than anything especially when you get into the postseason. The mental side of the game gets you over the hump," James said in another interview with USA Today.
