4 NYC Restaurants to Try Latin-Inspired Brunch
New York City offers a lot of restaurants to get your daily brunch fix. A lot of them offer Latin-inspired food.
Listed below are five NYC restaurants that offer Latin-inspired brunch.
The Black Ant
Those who have been to Ofrenda -- and loved its meals -- will like its new sister restaurant, The Black Ant. This modern Mexican joint, located at 60 2nd Ave, offers guacamole with an exciting crispy topping -- black ants.
Also on their diverse brunch menu are fresh twists on traditional meals like poached eggs over duck confit hash with duck chorizo. Their other notable dishes are la jitomata (vegetables combined with fried pork skin) and perrito de pulpo (a dish containing spicy fries, octopus avocado roll, carrot slow and aioli). If you're feeling adventurous, try their smoky jalapeño margaritas.
Dos Caminos
Dos Caminos offers plenty of choices for your brunch cravings. Their menu includes chapulines (Oaxacan grasshoppers served with salsa and warm tortilla chips), empanadas de platano (roasted plantain masa with black beans, poblano chiles and queso añejo) and chorizo fundido (Mexican cheeses with dark beer and spicy chorizo). The restaurant also offers seven taco dishes, each boasting different flavors.
Dos Caminos have four different locations across NYC: 825 3rd Av., 373 Park Ave. South, 475 West Broadway, and 675 Hudson St.
Yerba Buena
This restaurant, located at 23 Avenue A, offers notable brunch meals that you will surely enjoy. Their menu includes tres arepas (bbq short ribs, pork belly, chicken tinga, scramble eggs) and huevos rancheros (crispy tortilla, black beans, charred tomato cascabel salsa, queso fresco). Cinnamon dusted churros with Mexican hot chocolate are also served in this eatery.
Yerba Buena's cocktails don't disappoint either. Indulge in their Azteca (Lunazul Tequila, St. Germain, Yellow Chartreuse, fresh lime juice) and Pisco Punch (pineapple-infused Peruvian pisco, grapefruit and lime cordials, fresh lemon juice).
The Wayfarer
The Wayfarer is considered a classic American restaurant, but it has since been redefined with a Latin touch.
Some of their dishes featuring Latin flavors include avocado toast (olive oil, lime, espelette, petite salad) and oyster tempura with cilantro and chili dipping sauce. These newly added meals are all prepared by Executive Chef Braden Reardon.
