One of Leonardo DiCaprio's next role might get a bit musical.

Rumor has it that Baz Luhrmann is in talks to direct a biopic on Elvis Presley, and if he does, Luhrmann wants DiCaprio to play the singer, DNA India reported.

The script for the movie will be written by Kelly Marcel, who also wrote the "Fifty Shades of Grey" screenplay. It is not clear what time period it will focus on, but it is supposed to be an original piece. Catherine Martin is supposed to be the costume and production designer.

DiCaprio has played many different roles throughout his career, but he's not known as a singer. Presumably, he will have to sing if cast in the role of Elvis Presley.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers played Elvis Presley in a 2005 mini series on CBS. Rose McGowan played Ann-Margret. Meyers had a great resemblance to the "Blue Suede Shoes" singer, so it's interesting to imagine what DiCaprio might look like in the role. The actor is known to really transform himself for his characters. Dicaprio played real-life Frank Abagnale in "Catch Me If You Can" in 2002.

It might be the year of the biopic for DiCaprio, who has also been rumored to be up for a new Steve Jobs movie. This movie has been written by Aaron Sorkin, and Danny Boyle is being considered as the director. Boyle has supposedly spoken to DiCaprio about possibly playing Steve Jobs, the Hollywood Reporter said.

Christian Bale was another name that was thrown around for the Steve Jobs role, but Sony reportedly wanted to replace him because of his high pay requests. Boyle and DiCaprio previously worked together in "The Beach," a 2000 film. The movie was panned by critics.
