A consumer app for products and services in Latin America has finally made its way to Windows 8.1 platforms via Intel's Atom tablets.

Buscapé Company, a digital commerce platform that promotes businesses, announced its self-titled app's availability on the Atom tablets. Buscapé has been used to compare products in various countries notably the United States (U.S.) and across Latin America namely Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and more. The app has even provided help for Spaniards in Europe.

According to the digital commerce platform, more than 11 million products have been registered with the app and have 30 million monthly visits.

"We have produced a very useful and informative new comparison shopping app that is easy to use thanks in large part to the help we received from the Intel Developer Zone," said Buscapé Company's Marcelo Negrini. "New Windows tablets provide a convenient and interactive way to use Buscapé."

The app, also available on Apple's iTunes Store and Google Play, allows users to compare prices of products, from books, cars, clothing, electronics, and for various age groups such as toddlers to adults. Buscapé features a list of categories the app user can select and lists local retailers offering the lowest prices of a specific item. The app also offers product reviews.

With the introduction of Buscapé on Intel Atom tablets with the Windows 8.1 platform, the app has been optimized for the device's high-resolution screen, touch interface, and processor speeds.

The Buscapé Company has had success with its price comparison app as comScore ranked it as a leader in digital commerce in Brazil with nearly 16 million unique visitors during September 2011.

Users who download the app should double check their location accurately matches their respective app store.

In one instance, the Buscapé app installed on an Apple iOS device opened with the Portuguese language and noted the device owner was from Brazil under the mobile carrier Telefónica. The iPhone user was in fact from New York and a Sprint subscriber. It is unknown if similar occurrence was reported for the Windows 8.1 platform.

If a related situation does occur, the app does allow the user to change languages such as English and Spanish as well as country.

Buscapé's website also allows visitors to insert their emails for exclusive offers. The company's website is able to match the online visitor's country, from Argentina to Ecuador and Panama to Peru, to Dominican Republic and Latinos in the U.S.
