Black Panther on a 'Political Mission' in 'Captain America: Civil War'
Less than three months from now, Marvel fans will witness the division of the Avengers in "Captain America: Civil War." Aside from the popular Earth superheroes that most already know, the anticipated film will introduce Black Panther.
Black Panther's Mission in "Civil War"
In the trailer, one will see Chadwick Boseman a.k.a Black Panther fighting alongside Iron Man. There is a scene where he runs after The Winter Soldier, who is one of the members of Captain America's team. However, there are also photos featuring Black Panther with Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson. So, which side does Black Panther really belong to?
Boseman revealed that his character is not siding with either Cap or Iron Man. He also revealed a crucial detail about his role. "It's my political mission to tame it and get it under control," he said.
Who is Black Panther?
T'Challa or Black Panther is not the usual superhero you would consider to be part of the Avengers. However, it is not reasonable to rule out the character because of his lack of superpowers since he has extraordinary skills.
Black Panther is the king of Wakanda, and he is endowed with superhuman strength, cleverness and alertness. He gained these abilities after taking a heart-shaped herb. It is not confirmed yet if he drank or ate the magical herb that gave him such impressive abilities.
For those who want to know more about the character, it will certainly be impossible to learn all the details in "Captain America: Civil War" since the film involves many other superheroes who will come with their own stories. Moreover, the movie is centered on Captain America's story.
But do not worry because Black Panther will have his own stand-alone film in 2018.
Is "Civil War" the Best Marvel Film?
"Captain America: Civil War" is the culmination of the "Captain America" trilogy. Although Thor and the Hulk are not in the film, the upcoming flick is filled with superheroes, including Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Vision (Paul Bettany), Black Panther (Boseman), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and more.
Due to the massive combination of characters, there is a lot of expectation from the film. You will surely not be disappointed because according to Mackie, "Captain America: Civil War" is the best Marvel movie.
The actor believes that the plot is both interesting and straightforward. He also teased that "Civil War" is more of a drama than an action film.
In the trailer, one could see Cap and The Winter Soldier fighting together against Iron Man. Rogers apologized to Tony Stark for the battle, stressing that he only defended Bucky Barnes because he is his friend and Stark's reply was a startling "and so was I."
"Captain America: Civil War" will premiere on May 6, 2016.
