Chris Brown is currently waiting in jail for his delayed assault trial. Meanwhile, his mom Joyce Hawkins reveals she is actually glad that the R&B star is locked up.

Besides Karrueche Tran, Hawkins is one of the most important women in the "Loyal" singer's life, and she has said she always wants the best for her son. She said she thinks it is better for Brown to be in jail at this time because it may be preventing him from getting into even more trouble.

Many of the 24-year-old singer's close pals were involved in a fight at Supperclub in Hollywood early in the morning of Wednesday, April 30 -- a violent brawl broke out between the club security and members of rappers T.I. and The Game's crew. Since the club is one of Chris Brown's favorite hangout spots, it is highly possible that he would have been there at the incident, which he was able to avoid the whole drama because of he is in jail.

"It's a good thing he's in jail seeing as how all of his friends were at the club [on April 30] and because he's impressionable, he would have been there too, in trouble, and who knows what that could have amounted to," a source close to Brown's mom said.

When Joyce Hawkins watched the video of the recent fight online, she was absolutely disgusted by the vicious incident. "She was appalled and just outraged to see all that nonsense play out and see Chris' friends, the same people she's tried to get out of his life for years, involved in that," the source continued. "When will they learn? Someone could have been seriously injured or even been killed.

"She hates that Chris likes to be in those types of environments and with those type of people, and she's glad that he was locked up when all this took place," the source added. "She hopes that he can somehow see the video in jail and learn something from this and wake up. His friends are bad news!"
