NBA Latest News: Ty Lawson to Indiana Pacers, Says Source; Andrew Bynum Return Possible
Ty Lawson was left pondering on his next move, particularly because the season seemed to be over for him.
The only thing that could hinder that from happening is if another team would take a chance on the 28-year-old guard. With his season performance, the outlook wasn’t that good after he was bought out by the Houston Rockets recently.
As mentioned in a previous Latin Post report, teams like the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks could take a gamble on the 18th pick of the 2009 NBA Draft. However, in the end, it was a surprise team that did -- the Indiana Pacers.
The Pacers have reportedly come to terms with Lawson, who is likely to end up as a reliever to starting guard George Hill. An unfortunate casualty of the trade was Chase Budinger, who the Pacers had to waive in order to accommodate Lawson.
Thus, Lawson would be getting another chance to prove himself with the Pacers. Recalling his style of play, he could fit in perfectly with the run-and-gun style of head coach Frank Vogel.
It has been a turbulent season for Lawson so far. He started out the season plagued by off-court issues, mainly involving his drinking that led to him getting arrested twice last year.
