Bobbi Kristina Brown Autopsy Reveals She Weighed Less Than 100 Pounds At Time of Death; Body Covered With Scars: Medical Examiner's Office
Bobbi Kristina Brown weighed less than 100 pounds and her body was covered with "well-healed scars" across much of her body at the time of her death.
Seven months after the death of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's only daughter, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office made those findings public in its recently released autopsy of her remains.
The report identified the official cause of death for the 22-year-old as lobar pneumonia. She died under hospice care at a Georgia facility, some seven months after she was rushed to a hospital emergency room after being found submerged under water in the bathtub of the home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon.
The July 27, 2015 examination also revealed she had at least four scars on the right side of her neck, multiple others on the left side and eight on her chest. As many as ten scars were also discovered on the left arm of her 93-pound frame and four others on her right arm.
Several Drugs Found in her System
Doctors also uncovered the drugs cocaine, marijuana and morphine in her system. The official report noted, "Morphine is a drug produced from the metabolism of many opiate compounds including heroin."
Doctors listed the manner of death as undetermined, meaning it could have been intentional or accidental.
Immediately following the report's release, lawyers for Gordon sought to stress they are convinced it largely vindicates their client from any suspected wrongdoing and clearly illustrates that Bobbi Kristina was in the throes of an out-of-control drug addiction.
Nick Gordon Feels Vindicated
Soon after she was hospitalized, authorities launched a criminal probe into the circumstances of her condition, which reportedly targeted Gordon as the primary suspect. In addition, he has been slapped with a multimillion dollar suit from the executors of her estate alleging that he physically abused and stole from his girlfriend during the time they were together.
Lead attorney Jose Baez, the same man who represented Casey Anthony, is said to be outraged with prosecutors for keeping the files sealed as long as they did, insisting that the move unfairly cast his client in a negative light.
