Holly Holm is now trying to regain lost ground following her loss to Miesha Tate at UFC 196. Dana White feels sorry for her but believes everything is the fault of her handler, Lenny Fresquez.

Newly crowned UFC Women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate is eager to find out who she will be facing next. UFC president Dana White seems to be leaning on a Ronda Rousey title defense.

The UFC world has still not gotten over the upset-rich UFC 196 that took place last weekend. Two overwhelming favorites suffered stunning losses, Holm and Conor McGregor. Of the two matches, however, Holm seemed to have lost bigger, considering she lost her title belt to Tate. But right now, it seems that is not all she will be losing.

Why Should Holm Take a Backseat to Rousey?

Following that loss, it seems surprising to see White hinting at an immediate Rousey vs. Tate match. Traditionally, it would be the champions who get a rematch unless they are deemed unworthy of having one.

Judging how Holm was able to stun the world as well in November, there is no question that she deserves another fight after pulling off an obviously bigger shocker by defeating a seemingly invincible Rousey at UFC 193.

Other than that, Holm holds a win over Rousey that should place her ahead of Rousey. With that said, could it all be about the money?

Blame it on the Boxer

White admitted that he was sorry for the plight of Holm. The UFC President put the blame mostly on Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez.

"I don't know if Holly really knows what she lost. I think she has so much faith in the people that surround her, she feels like, 'Well, they got me this far,'" said White about Fresquez.

It didn’t take long for Fresquez to fire back and clear the air. Fresquez said that Holm knew the consequences and wanted to fight.

“We gave her the different options. Fight Miesha in March. Wait for Ronda in November or December. She said, 'I don't want to wait. I want to fight,'" explained Fresquez.

Back in January, it was no secret that Holm and her camp wanted to stay sharp. At the time, there was no telling when (and if) Rousey would ever return to the ring especially after the beating she got from Holm.

Right now, it seems like White is taking a shot at Fresquez for forcing the issue, which is fighting at UFC 196. However, if Fresquez’ claims are any indication, fighting at UFC 196 was a team decision that included Holm.

Will Rousey Return by UFC 200?

All these squabbles aside, the more important question is whether Rousey is ready to return to the UFC scene. She seems to be in the middle of regrouping her thoughts for now and has begged off from fighting at UFC 200.

If that is the case, does this mean that White will make Tate wait as well before his cash-cow is ready to spring back into action?

With Rousey's status questionable, holding out on Tate vs. Holm 2 for UFC 200 could spark some controversy unless White has a master plan on his hands.
