Eminem is set to be the first rapper ever to perform at Wembley Stadium. The concert will also be his first show in London since 2001.

The Detroit rapper announced the latest news during his appearance on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 on Tuesday (May 6). "I know Wembley Stadium's huge," he said of the arena that holds capacity for 90,000 audiences. Em added that he prefers doing big one-off concerts rather than going on lengthy tours at the moment. "I'm not saying I'll never be ready for that again, but right now, this is what's working for me."

Eminem also revealed what fans can expect to hear from the upcoming concert. "It's definitely better," he said. "It definitely brings a whole new element to it... There's a whole different energy. It's louder. It's more in your face. It's more explosive."

The "MMLP2" rapper is currently busy working on the new albums for Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf, as well as the forthcoming shows for his recently announced battle rap league, Total Slaughter. "We're trying to take the best of the best and put them up against each other," he said. The first event, Joe Budden vs. Hollow Da Don and the rematch between Harlem's Murda Mook and Loaded Lux, will take place at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on July 11 -- the same day as his Wembley concert. The battle will be streamed on hip-hop website WatchLOUD, in conjunction with his film company Shady Films.

"I'm a passionate battle fan, so this is something I've always thought about doing," said Eminem. "I came up battling at the same time I was making records and learning my way around the studio. It's a little bit different in terms of the kinds of tools you need, but the competitiveness is the same. The times I didn't win gave me just as much light in the past as when I did. It's all about your performance."
