This fashion model might have gotten a bit too edgy for her own good. Renee Alway, who was a contestant on Cycle 8 of the hit T.V. show "America's Next Top Model," was arrested last month on a litany of felony charges.

As is often the case, true life has once again proven to be stranger than fiction. The pencil-thin blonde bombshell was arrested Jun. 28 after a stand-off with police in Palm Springs, Calif. Among other charges, she was arrested under suspicion of burglary and fraud.

Apparently, Alway was attempting to enter the house of a couple in Palm Springs that was out of the country at the time. Neighbors noticed Alway as she entered the house, telling police that a suspicious woman was inside. At that point, police surrounded the premises, and a six-hour standoff ensued.

The local police department soon called in the SWAT team, as they believed that an armed individual may be inside. Eventually, they made their way indoors, but were unable to find anyone inside the house. It was only once the SWAT team made their way to the garage that they found and arrested Alway.

Since that time, the aspiring model has been incarcerated at the Riverside County Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning, Calif. Alway was not able to post the bail of $150,000, and is due in court this Thursday.

In total, there are five felony counts now pending against Alway. She was also arrested two other times in June, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, petty theft and fraud. Since she was on probation at the time of her arrest, Alway is also likely to be charged with committing a felony while on probation.

It is not yet known what led to 27-year-old Alway's drastic downfall from what appeared to be a blossoming career. She placed third in "America's Next Top Model" and was quickly becoing a hot commodity on the fashion circuit, but it appears those days are now long gone.
