Watch 'Broadway Carpool Karaoke' With 'Hamilton's' Lin Manuel-Miranda and 'Late Late Show' Host James Corden
James Corden and "Hamilton" star Lin-Manuel Miranda teamed for a New York rendition of "Guns and Ships" while en-route to the famed Beacon Theatre.
The two shared the microphone for an edition of the "Late Late Show" host's famed Carpool Karaoke segment, where Miranda took on the role of Lafayette from his much acclaimed Tony nominated musical.
Corden to Host This Year's Tonys
Corden is also set to serve as host of this year's Tony's on June 12, virtually assuring that won't be the only stage he and Miranda share, as "Hamilton" is nominated for a record setting 16 awards.
Among the categories the more than $100 million grossing play is nominated in are Best Musical, Best performance by an actor in a leading role (Miranda), Best performance by an actor in a featured in a musical (Daveed Diggs), best original score, best direction of a musical and best choreography.
Meanwhile, while embarking on their crisscross of Manhattan, Corden and Miranda encountered three other stars, giving rides to "Shuffle Along" star Audra McDonald, "Committed" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson and "She Loves Me" star Jane Krakowski.
Together the star-studded cast of travelers also belted out a version of "Seasons of Love" from "Rent."
At one point during the ride, Corden quizzes Ferguson, who also co-stars on the hit TV show "Modern Family," which he prefers more, "Theatre... or money?"
The trip finally wraps with a sterling, exhilarating rendition of "Les Miserables."
Broadway Ticket Sales top $1 Billion for Season
It's been a season like no other on Broadway, which at $1.37 billion just saw its highest-grossing season in ticket sales in history. One of the biggest drivers of that has been "Hamilton," which has helped push Miranda's personal fortune into the "$10 million neighborhood."
