WWE News: WWE NXT Spoilers for Next 3 Weeks in June: Is Finn Balor vs. Shinsuke Nakamura in the Works?
Following "NXT TakeOver: The End," the next three weekly episodes of "WWE NXT" were filmed at Full Sail University on Thursday night and a major match could be brewing.
June 15 Episode
The first episode opens with NXT Champion Samoa Joe delivering a backstage promo about his victory against Finn Balor at "TakeOver: The End." Joe says he's the true champion and will continue to dominate.
The first match of the episode saw legendary manager Paul Ellering with his newest tag team, The Authors of Pain, defeat two enhancement talent in a squash match.
In women's competition, Carmella made Tessa Blanchard tap out.
In more tag team competition, TM61 defeated Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy, who were not accompanied with Alexa Bless. TM61 won the match, which then saw Murphy yell at Blake.
In a rematch from "The End," Andrade "Cien" Almas defeated Tye Dillinger. In a much lengthier match, the crowd showed their love for Tye, who has been a staple at NXT. By the end of the match, Andrade was victorious and did win the crowd over.
Finally Finn Balor appears to close the first episode. He spoke about his NXT journey, becoming NXT Champion and asks what's next for him. Enter Shinsuka Nakamura. He offered a challenge to Balor but there was not indication when the match will occur.
June 22 Episode
Tye Dillinger lost another match to the wrestler formerly known as Christopher Girard, who has taken on a new name if Oney Lorcan.
No Way Jose, the WWE first Dominican wrestler, defeated Josh Woods. Austin Aires appeared after the match to dance with Jose until he attacked him.
Bayley made her in-ring return and defeated Deonna Purrazo.
Next, Nia Jax defeated Liv Morgan.
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Murphy in the main event of the second show.
June 29 Episode
Alexa Bills defeated Carmella with the Sparkle Splash.
Andrade "Cien" Almas returned and defeated Noah Kekoa.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated The Hype Bros. (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder).
Ciampa and Gargano, after the match, said they wanted a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship, but American Alpha appeared and said they want a shot of the titles, too. With NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival on stage, NXT General Manager William Regal appeared and announced a 2 out of 3 Falls Match -- scheduled for another week -- between The Rival and American Alpha. The Authors of Pain appeared and attacked American Alpha, but Ciampa and Gargano try to make the save but to no avail.
In the main event, NXT Champion Samoa Joe defeated Oney Lorcan in a non-title match.
Nakamura vs. Balor Predictions?
No further in-ring segments were filmed between Nakamura and Balor, but expect backstage segments once the respective episodes air. The next confirmed "TakeOver" event is "TakeOver: Brooklyn" in August. It's unclear if a Balor vs. Nakamura match is scheduled for Brooklyn, but a tweet from Triple H could be a teaser.
Triple H's tweet shows Nakamura and Balor on a screen and with a Brooklyn reference.
The WWE is scheduled to visit Japan in early July and Nakamura has been advertised to appear, and it's common knowledge that both he and Balor have graced the wrestling stage in Japan for several years. Last year, the WWE did air a live special on the WWE Network from Japan, which featured Finn Balor winning the NXT Championship against Kevin Owens. If Nakamura vs. Balor doesn't occur in Brooklyn, could Japan be the location? The WWE has yet to confirm a live special from Tokyo's Sumo Hall.
