"Elder Scrolls Online" developer Bethesda confirmed Thrusday that their massive multiplayer online RPG will not be available for PS4 or Xbox One in June as originally planned. Bethesda's vice president of PR and marketing Pete Hines stated on Twitter that the unique platform issues that came up while putting together their systems with each manufacturer's console networks contributed to the delay. Bethesda added, however, that the home computer versions of the game, already available, will not be affected by these problems.

With this in mind, Bethesda realized that releasing the console version in June was impossible. The company announced that it may need another six months before it can release "Elder Scrolls Online" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in order to give their fans the experience that they wanted. If everything goes well, we are most likely looking at a November 2014 release date for Elder Scrolls on PS4 and Xbox One.

To help offset the inconvenience of the delay, Hines indicated that those who will purchase and play the PC/Mac version before June 30 will have the chance to relocate their characters to their own console version. This will allow users  to start playing right away on the PC/Mac, with the option to later copy the advanced character to the Xbox or PS4 version without paying the full price for the newer version of the game. All qualified PC/Mac gamers can choose to have a complete, digital ESO version on either PlayStation 4 or Xbox plus 30 free days of game time by for only $20.

According to NowGamer, Bethesda promised to get the game out as soon as possible and that it would keep fans updated with the company's progress on the game. "Whether you decide to take advantage of this offer or not, we promise to do everything we can to get the game released on both consoles as quickly as we can. We will keep everyone updated with additional details regarding character transfers, specific offer dates, when you can expect console beta to start, and of course, when ESO on consoles will launch," said Bethesda.
