“Jane the Virgin” returns to the CW this fall with answers to Jane Villanueva’s (Gina Rodriguez) new relationship status. Will she become a young widow?

In the Season 2 finale, her husband Michael Cordero, Jr. (Brett Dier) was shot right in the heart by his crooked police partner Susanna Barnett (Megan Ketch).

Michael’s Fate

Michael found out that Susanna was the mastermind behind crime lord Sin Rosetra. He made the connection, approached her on the issue, and she “killed him” in order to keep the dark secret.

Yet, fans are not sure if Michael is actually dead after that Season 2 finale cliffhanger. Will he survive the attack? Did the bullet actually puncture his heart? Will he be in a coma, forcing Jane to decide between pulling the plug or keeping him a vegetable?

It is possible that the wound was fatal given Season 1’s narration, “And for as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did stop believing that he and Jane were meant to be together.”

The show’s executive producer Jennie Urman tells TVLine that fans will know very early on in Season 3 if Michael is alive or not.

Jane’s Virginity

Meanwhile, Jane is still a virgin. “She is going to lose her virginity. It’s not too far in the future, but it didn’t happen [in the Season 2 finale],” Urman reveals.

In the last episode, Michael said his vows in Spanish when he and Jane tied the knot.

Everyone in the church yelled, “Now go have sex!” But they did not get to do the deed because Michael got caught up with busting his partner.

Xo’s Pregnancy

Xiomara Villanueva a.k.a Xo (Andrea Navedo) is pregnant! Will she keep the baby? Or will she get an abortion to keep up with her plans of not having another baby?

“Well, maybe a pregnancy but not necessarily a baby,” Urman teases. “She doesn’t want to have another baby with Rogelio. She certainly doesn’t want to have a baby with Esteban. So that will be what we deal with when we come back.”

If Xo is really pregnant with Esteban Santiago’s (Keller Wortham) baby, Rogelio de la Vega (Jaime Camil) will not be too thrilled.

“Jane the Virgin” returns to the CW on Monday Oct. 17 at 9 p.m.
