Pokémon GO Plus Pre-Order Details for iPhone (iOS) and Android Users; The Price and When Do They Start Shipping?
Pokémon GO has millions of downloads with players throughout the world getting on their feet in search of the little creatures that seem to be lurking around in their neighborhoods.
With all the popularity the game comes with, there was also a safety issue; some players were getting hurt because they had their eyes glued to their phones instead of paying attention to what was in front of them.
But not anymore! Pokémon GO collaborators, game developer Niantic Labs and The Pokémon Company, teamed up with Nintendo for an accessory for the game; Pokémon GO Plus.
With Pokémon GO Plus, players can use a device to “catch ‘em all” instead of keeping their eyes glued to their phones all day.
How Pokémon GO Plus Works
Pokémon GO Plus is a device that is an accessory to the App.
Players can use the Bluetooth wireless receiver as if it were an actual Poké Ball. The receiver looks like half of a Poké Ball and the button in the middle functions as a key for certain actions.
Pokémon GO players can hook the device to their belts or their wrists while walking around.
Instead of constantly checking their phones for the nearest PokéStop or newest Pokémon, the device alerts players with a vibration and gives them the option to press the button in order to take action.
How to Get Pokémon GO Plus
Nintendo officially releases Pokémon GO Plus in September. Originally, it was supposed to be launched in July. The release date has been pushed back because the App has not been optimized for the device yet.
However, enthusiastic players can pre-order the device for about $35.
Pre-Order Pokémon GO Plus
Although the device is not a must-have in order to play the game, it will be hard to get one once it is officially released because Nintendo won’t make that many of them. It is already difficult to get the Pokémon GO Plus pre-order.
Amazon launched pre-orders and are now out of stock.
Pokemonunion.com has a link to get pre-orders but the page says, “Sorry, this shop is currently unavailable.” It is a chance that they will have more orders in the future.
Gamestop has Pokémon GO Plus pre-orders selling for $34.99. The store will start shipping the pre-orders out on July 31.
eBay also has Pokémon GO pre-orders.
Pokémon GO Plus for iPhone Users
Pokémon GO Plus players must have smartphones with Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS technology in order for the device to work.
iPhone users need to make sure that their phones are running iOS 8 for Pokémon GO Plus.
Pokémon GO Plus for Android Users
Android users must have Android 4.3 installed for Pokémon GO Plus. It is not a guarantee that Pokémon GO Plus will work on all Androids.
