Mega Millions – Winning Numbers for Today, August 2, 2016 Drawing: $25 Million Jackpot Results in Live Streaming
Update - Aug. 2, 2016 - 11:04 p.m. ET: The winning numbers for tonight's Mega Millions drawing are 3, 12, 36, 54, 70. 12 is the Megaball and 5x is the Megaplier.
The Tuesday, August 2 Mega Millions jackpot now stands at $25 million after there were no grand prize winners in the July 29, $20 million drawing. Check back at this page for a posting of the winning numbers in real time.
With that, the jackpot rolled over into part of Tuesday's grand prize, which offers a single game winner the option of collecting on a one-time, cash option payment of $17 million.
The winning numbers in Friday's game were 11, 16, 19, 31 and 48. The winning Gold Mega Ball number was 4 and the megaplier was 5.
Million Dollar Winner
One player matched all five white ball numbers to earn a prize of $1 million. The New Jersey winner also played the megaplier, to increase their winnings to $5 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 75; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 15. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 259 million. You can watch a live stream of Tuesday night's draw.
Mega Millions is played in 44 states, plus the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands. Tickets cost $1 each.
Powerball Jackpot Resets at $40 Million
Meanwhile, the Wednesday, August 3 Powerball jackpot has reset to $40 million after a player from New Hampshire matched all six numbers to claim last Saturday's $478 million grand prize.
The $478 million jackpot was the eighth largest in the history of the game, and marked the first time a player has won the grand prize since May 7, when a family from New Jersey claimed the $429.6 million jackpot.
The winning numbers were 11, 17, 21, 23 and 32. The Red Powerball Power number was 5 and the Power Play number was 2.
A single game winner in Wednesday's game will have the option of walking away with a $28.1 million cash option prize.
