Juan Gabriel Dead at Age 66: Cause of Death – Report [Latest News Updates]
Juan Gabriel, Mexican music icon, died on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the age of 66. His death was first announced via twitter and later via other media outlets. As an entire community of latinos both in the U.S. and abroad mourn the loss of "El Divo de Juárez", questions regarding the funeral preparations as well as the causes that led to the sudden death are surely to surface sooner or later.
Alberto Aguilera Valadez, Gabriel's legal name, died of natural causes according to the Los Angeles County Coroner spokeswoman Selena Barros. Earlier reports however, informed that Gabrield had suffered a heart attack that led to his passing at his home in Santa Monica, California around 11:30 a.m local time.
The previous night, Gabriel had performed in a concert in the city of Los Angeles. The concert was part of his "MeXXico es Todo (MeXXico is Everything)" tour.
Gabriel performed mariachi, ranchera, latin pop music and due to his achievements, contributions and international recognition he was also awarded a star in Hollywood's Walk of Fame in May of 2002.
The artist sold more than 100 million albums throughout his approximately 40-year career and is well-known for his ballads and mariachi music. Gabriel's net worth was reportedly $30 million.
