Kendrick Lamar Hot New Song and Album Update: TDE Blasts Media for Reporting False Information on 'Swimming Pools' Rapper's Next Album Title
After a bunch of news reports regarding Kendrick Lamar's highly anticipated upcoming sophomore studio album was surfaced online earlier last week, Top Dawg Entertainment's ret One now confirms that all the previous claims are simply made up.
Popular hip-hop news websites, such as Rap Radar and hotnewhiphop.com among others, posted the information regarding Lamar's forthcoming record. They revealed that the "Swimming Pools" rapper's new album would be titled "United States of A.L.A.R.M" with a release date scheduled for September 2014 -- which all were eventually determined to be completely inaccurate.
Also, the accompanying promo photo turned out to be apparently from a Vibe magazine photo shoot. Since TDE's CEO, Anthony "Top Dawg" Tiffith, said in an interview with Billboard last year that the "m.A.A.d City" rapper and his label were aiming to release Kendrick Lamar's second major label album sometime in September, the poster featuring the release date seemed to be more believable to fans.
However, ret One, who handles management for Lamar, took to his Twitter account to blast the media for reporting false information and deny previous reports, saying that whatever claim that is not directly from TDE is pretty much fake. "whats up with these fake ass news stories," he tweeted in frustration. "unless you see @dangerookipawaa talk about it, shit aint real. #TopDawg #TDE."
"that goes for Interscope, news, blogs, etc...if u aint see it come directly from us #TDE dont believe em..." retOne added.
Once the Compton, California rapper's album title as well as his cover art turned out to be nothing more than just a fake rumor, Rap Radar removed its initial post and tweeted regarding its recent inaccurate news. "Kendrick Lamar album info faker than a $3 bill, ya bish! Happy Saturday!" the site read.
