Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions is teaming up with Paramount and Glen Powell for a "Captain Planet" movie. The studio has been discussing for the rights of the cartoon series. It looks like Jono Matt and Glen Powell are taking steps to write the script.

According to Hollywood Reporter, DiCaprio will produce the project through Appian Productions together with Jennifer Davisson Killoran. The deal is already been signed in March with Paramount along with Powell.

It seems that Powell will also star in the project, well known for his pieces like "Scream Queens" and the latest film "Everybody Wants Some", the output of Captain Planet is surely going to be exciting.

"Captain Planet" was a television cartoon aired during 1990 September to 1992 December; it's all about five young individuals with magical rings and natural element power. The team will need to work hard to bring about all those adaptations from the cartoon.

Vanity Fair states that no actors have been cast yet for the film, which leaves Powell to make an appearance. The biggest question is who will play the "Captain Planet" role?

It is rumored that DiCaprio might take up the role himself. If that is the case everyone is going to witness a new DiCaprio all suited up as a super hero.

It still appears to be a long way to go and until and unless the script is complete, only then the filming can take place. Since the story revolves around super heroes there is sure to be loads of post production work as well.

"Captain Planet" is known for fighting against environmental evils, these aspects seems to fit DiCapiro very well since he is a well known environmentalist who speaks up on issues regarding Global Warming.

Whether "Captain Planet" fans are eager or not for the release of the film it appears that the DiCaprio fans are looking forward to see him in a new role.
