ABC is betting on Shonda Rhimes once again. Come fall, when ABC premieres "How To Get Away With Murder," she will have three hour-long dramas on Thursday. Rhimes has already struck gold with her shows "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal." Her newest show will star Viola Davis, notes LA Times.

ABC entertainment president Paul Lee said she is the "new president of entertainment on Thursday nights."

"I call her the Charles Dickens of the 21st century," Lee said at an hour-long presentation where the upcoming season was presented. "If Charles Dickens was black and a woman."

ABC is pinning its hopes on Rhimes in a time when the network desperately needs another hit; ABC finished fourth place among viewers aged 18 to 49 for the third year in a row in 2014. However, ABC should finish in third place among all viewers.

Jimmy Kimmel got in on the fun at the ABC presentation.

"The ABC I work at is not in first place," he said. "In fact, we might need to crash on your couch."

Lee said that the network is moving in the right direction. There's plenty of interaction on social media, and the plan is to keep moving forward.

ABC has many strong female characters, much of which is thanks to Rhimes, which has given the network the largest following of women viewers.

"How to Get Away With Murder" stars Davis as a tough criminal defense professor. The students will be working on a real murder case that tests them through their knowledge but also through their morality.

According to cinemablend.com, here's the official show synopsis: "The brilliant, charismatic and seductive Professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) gets entangled with four law students from her class, 'How to Get Away with Murder.'
