Two of Hollywood's heavyweights are going head to head against each other in female lead roles as one character - Jazz Age icon, Zelda Fitzgerald. Recent reports revealed that Scarlet Johansson will portray the writer the same time that Jennifer Lawrence would but in separate films. Which would be the better actress?

Recent reports surfaced that Scarlett Johansson would also be covering her life story but would title hers as "The Beautiful and the Damned." She was said to be currently producing the said film was the first take on Fitzgerald's life to film.

Despite Johansson's efforts in telling her version of Zelda's life, Jennifer Lawrence was reported to be doing the same thing - telling the author's life and incorporate it into a biopic as well, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Katniss Everdeen's Version

Lawrence will be working with Ron Howard in directing an upcoming movie entitled "Zelda." The said project would tell the story of Zelda's life journey until she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and institutionalized.

For Lawrence's version, she would be co-directing with Ron Howard who has been known for his creativity in the blockbuster hit, "A Beautiful Mind." Allison Shearrmur would executive produce the film whom Lawrence had already worked with during "The Hunger Games" franchise. Emma Frost was said to have written the film which was also inspired by the Nancy Milford biography of the same name.

Black Widow's Version

On the other hand, Scarlet Johansson would play the legendary novelist in the upcoming movie entitled "The Beautiful and the Damned." The difference between the two films is Johansson's film was named after the character's own literary work. However, it will have similar storylines such as telling the life of Zelda while she suffered from her mental illness along with her rocky marriage to husband, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and how she coped with the real world, reported Cinema Blend.

At present, Jennifer Lawrence's "Zelda" and Scarlett Johansson's "The Beautiful and the Damned" do not have official release dates yet. However, the latter has begun production.
