Rapper Gucci Mane is joining the oh-so-long list of celebrities linked to crime and jail time.

On Tuesday the rapper, whose birth name is Radric Davis, pled guilty to a federal firearms charge in Atlanta, Georgia.

The plea deal will save Davis considerable time behind bars. The 33-year-old rapper was originally facing up to twenty years in prison that has now been reduced to up to three years.

Davis also faces a fine of up to $500,000 on two counts of possession of a fireman as a fan based on two incidents that occurred during September of last year, CNN reports.

The federal prosecutor's news release reads, "On September 12, 2013, Davis, who was a felon at the time, was found in possession of a firearm. Then, just two days later, on September 14th, he again possessed a firearm different from the earlier gun. On both occasions, Davis displayed the loaded firearm, acted erratically, and made threats to individuals, including police and his attorney."

Perhaps, Davis' "erratic behavior" was partially due to his dropped recording contract with Atlantic Records that same week, according to CNN.

This isn't his first run in with the law; Davis served six months in jail for assault charges in 2005. In 2009, he spent one year in jail for violating his 2005 assault probation.

Since his assault charges and probation violation, he has been convicted of battery, assault and numerous parole and probation violations, resulting in numerous jail sentences.

On the day of Davis' plea in court, Aladino Ortiz with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said, "The criminal history of the defendant, Radric Davis shows a complete and utter disregard for the lives of others as well as for their personal pursuits."

Well, we can't argue with that.

Davis' sentencing will take place on July 28.
