Great Time For A New Cell Phone Contract: AT&T and Verizon New Prepaid Offerings
Basically, AT&T and Verizon have recently come up with new changes to their prepaid services; AT&T's GoPhone customers have a more wide range of options than before. Meanwhile, Verizon prepaid customers also have some options and this time AT&T has improved the data add-on plans for their customers for GoPhones.
The $30 GoPhone plan which includes nothing now allows customers to buy data access in increments of 250 MB rather than 100 MB. Respectively, $45 GoPhone plan allows customers to access to 1GB data rather than 500 MB.
The last one, $60 GoPhone plan now allows customers to buy extra 1GB and 3 GB allotments, the best part is there are no changes in prices of the plans. These changes make the customers more flexible for managing their monthly plans.
Whereelse, on the other hand, Verizon Wireless has totally removed their entry level $15 plan for feature phones. It's also nixed it's $30 prepaid plan for smartphones, which includes unlimited talk and text, but no data (WiFi only). The only two prepaid plans remains are the $45 and $60.
A family of four who've been waiting for the right time to switch to Verizon can use the incentive on each eligible line and receive up to $2,600.
According to PhoneScoop , Verizon Wireless CFO Fran Shammo has gone on the record before saying the company does not intend to chase low-profit customers.
Although switchers have to pay contract termination fees from their pocket, there is no other option left to avail this offer as per Fortune report.
What Verizon is offering is very smart and beneficial to customers, anyone who ports their existing number to Verizon or purchases a new smartphone on an EMI plan, and trades their old phone in, can receive up to $650 in the form of Visa prepaid card, which will depends on the value of their smartphone.
