It has been years since anyone heard anything about the Alien franchise, the weird looking giant creatures which invaded humanity but the franchise didn't lose connection to the viewers especially its fanatics. Now new set of images has recently circulated online in line with the movie director, Ridley Scott's 78th birthday.

Screen Crush revealed that the newest photo of Ridley Scott posing with Alien: Covenant as his backdrop created several speculations from all over. Scott is known to have been one of the best directors today and has been in the same plates as Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen. Now, 20th Century Fox has released the photo which is a very familiar one to fan's sight.

In the photo, it can be seen that Ridley Scott is posing as the foreground of the set and in the back, there is the reclining Space Jockey, more known as The Pilot. This design has been featured in Alien that gave the fans a brief information on what it can do.

The Space Jockey is initially part of James Cameron's script for the Aliens movie and should supposedly be featured in Prometheus. Nonetheless seeing the latest photo, fans can expect another addition to the sequel.

In addition to Ridley Scott, the photo is also attributed to his selection to the Directors Guild of America Lifetime Achievement in Motion Picture Direction according to Slash Film. The Directors Guild of America president Paris Barclay gave a statement which said:

"Masterful in any genre, Ridley's groundbreaking methods and peerless directing instincts have brought to life some of the most memorable films of our time, capturing the resilience of the human spirit and captivating the hearts and minds of audiences around the world. Over the course of four decades, his trailblazing career has demonstrated the impact and importance of the director's singular vision. For these reasons, and so many more, we are honored to present the Lifetime Achievement Award in feature film to Ridley Scott."

Alien Covenant is set to debut in theaters on May 19, 2017.
