A leaked memo from Starbucks states that it will have an upcoming collaboration with Niantic Labs and their Augmented Reality (AR) game, "Pokemon GO" this December 8. Recent reports say that the rumored Starbucks event will herald a new coffee concoction and the launch of the anticipated "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 monsters.

The Starbucks memo was first posted on Reddit and it details how the coffee chain will turn its branches into "Pokemon GO" gyms across the US. Players who can locate any participating Starbucks branch as a PokeStop in the game will get the chance to purchase their new "Pokemon GO" Frappucino. It is not known if the beverage will be available to non-playing customers.

Numerous Redditors in the thread speculate that in addition to the Starbucks "Pokemon GO" drink, there will be another creature that will be exclusive to the massive coffee franchise. They added that the exclusive "Pokemon GO" monster may only be sighted and spawn at Starbucks as well.

A few weeks prior, Niantic Labs has stated that they plan to release the "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 but have not been concrete as to the exact date of the events. Rumors say that Niantic Labs may use the Starbucks event to start releasing the additional 100 monsters from Gen 2 into the game.

However, it has been noted by BGR that if Niantic Labs were to release Gen 2 creatures in "Pokemon GO" this week, they should have released a new update by now seeing as how December 8 is just a few days away.

Do you think Niantic Labs is set to have collaboration with Starbucks this week and will we see "Pokemon GO" Gen 2 soon as well? The rumors have neither been confirmed nor denied by both companies as of this writing. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
