This was disagreed by many including Iron Man director Jon Favreau. He said he can't imagine another actor for the role. He also said that he can't imagine how fans and Marvels could. Robert Downey Jr. has talent, acting abilities and prowess that made him the one element that unified everything making the Iron Man franchise a success. The director added expressing confidence on Robert's capabilities. The fans would also surely not be happy with this news.

All Iron Man sequels have been played by Robert Downey Jr. and were certified box office hits. It would be unsure how moviegoers will accept the last.

But News Everyday said that Iron Man is not part of Marvel Phase 3 lineup to be out in 2020. Therefore, Iron Man 4 is unlikely to be out in 2019 because Marvel usually announced in advance their list of films.
