George RR Martin teases characters in very dark places; To prioritize 'Winds of Winter' in 2017
If there is any author that has the audacity to kill hundreds and thousands of characters without sparing even the most beloved ones, that would be George R.R. Martin. And this is just what he intends to continue doing for "Winds of Winter."
Although the "Game of Thrones Season 7" is expected to see the triumph of the Stark children and Daenerys Targaryen in their respective endeavors, the upcoming book of "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, however, will not tell the same story. Herein, things will just get darker.
Answering some questions during the Guadalajara International Book Fair, as per Entertainment Weekly, GRRM started: "There are a lot of dark chapters right now in the book that I'm writing." As readers of the book and even the viewers of "Game of Thrones" knew so well, the series is no fairy tale.
"I've been telling you for 20 years that winter was coming. Winter is the time when things die, and cold and ice and darkness fill the world, so this is not going to be the happy feel-good that people may be hoping for. Some of the characters are in very dark places," he continued.
Somehow, this gives a chill. Winter is definitely coming and whether the remaining beloved characters of the fans will live through, their fate is on GRRM's hands. Moreover, the release date of "Winds of Winter" is yet to come considering the loose timetable of the author.
In his personal blog, however, GRRM teased that he is set to finish the book soon. "My appearance schedule for 2017 is very limited, and will remain so until [Winds of Winter" is completed."
Hopefully, "Winds of Winter" get to be released before "Game of Thrones Season 7" will come or will end. The seven episodes of the TV will premiere on HBO in summer next year. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
