'Limitless' renews with 'Breaking Bad' crossover; Netflix to pick up Season 2?
The call of the fans of "Limitless" is loud and clear. They want the CBS series to renew for another season and continue the adventures of Brian Finch (Jake McDornan). And although the network continues to stand firm on its decision to cancel the show, "Limitless Season 2" might still be possible.
Showrunners of "Limitless" are reportedly in a negotiation for Season 2, which involves a possible crossover with "Breaking Bad" Season 6. As the latter's lead character, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), also having an experience on drug use, the crossover is expected to tell the drug escapades of Pinkman and Finch, reported GamenGuide.
Whether this is possible, only time could tell as the two TV shows came from two different networks. While "Limitless" is from CBS, "Breaking Bad" is from AMC. Considering, however, the promising upshot of the alleged crossover, Netflix is being tapped to carry it out.
While Netflix previously opted to pass with "Limitless" Season 2, the extraordinarily huge number of supporters of the online petition for the show might positively affect the decision of the network. Currently, the petition is only 2,000 signatures short for the targeted 40,000 petitioners, Yibada reported.
Fans, however, should note that even if the petition reaches its target numbers, the final decision for "Limitless" Season 2 still remains on the network that will pick it up. As previously reported, major networks brushed the show away because of its alleged declining viewership and also because of its complicated storyline that involves drug taking.
The TV show was based on a 2011 movie of Bradley Cooper with the same name that follows a young man who takes NZT drug to activate extraordinary cognitive powers and uses this power to help the FBI solve complex cases.
"Limitless" still has to prove that it has without limits. Stay tuned for more updates!
