America Ferrera Sexually Assaulted At Cannes Film Festival: He Tried to Take an Upskirt Photo of the 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' Actress
Former "Ugly Betty" actress America Ferrera experienced quite a shock on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival on Friday.
Ferrera took a grand entrance for the Festival in promotion of her "How to Train Your Dragon 2" film, when suddenly a man slid across the red carpet and almost ended up under her all white gown in attempt to snap an infamous "celebrity crotch shot' of the 30-year-old actress.
The LA Times reported that Ferrera and her fellow "How to Train Your Dragon 2" actors -- including Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington, Djimon Hounsou and Jay Baruchel -- turned around to find a security team dragging the man away from Ferrera's dress.
So who is this "mystery man" and what was his motive?
The man is reported to be a 25-year-old Ukrainian "journalist" (we'll use that term loosely) named Vitalii Sediuk.
Reports claim that Sediuk has developed a reputation over the years for pulling outlandish stunts on celebrities during numerous red carpet events.
According to the Washington Post, Sediuk tried to "plant a kiss" on Academy Award nominated actor Will Smith at a movie premiere.
But wait there's more.
The LA Times went on to list a number of other red carpet events where Sediuk was escorted out of, including the 2014 SAG awards where Sediuk grabbed Bradley Cooper's crotch and the 2013 Grammy's where the celebrity-crazed "journalist" tried to pull a Kanye during Adele's acceptance speech and was later ordered to spend a night in jail.
Despite the undoubtedly startling ordeal, Ferrara maintained her professionalism and continued down the red carpet without a hitch.
More than anything, it seems that Ferrera was more "freaked out" by the fact that she got the opportunity to share the Cannes carpet and star alongside a movie with Academy Award winning actress, Cate Blanchett.
She wrote on Instagram, "No big deal guys. Just me and Cate Blanchett at Cannes. #freakingtheEFFout #surrealmoment."
