Sony Corporation has just released its new Nougat-based Android OS Concept firmware update for the Sony's Xperia X lineup. The update, which carries the build number of 38.1.A.0.367, will also bring support for VoLTE (Voice over Long-Term Evolution).

According to GSM Arena, the Nougat-based Android concept update with firmware build number of 38.1.A.0.367 will bring VoLTE support for the Xperia device. This goes along with the latest Android security fixes launched last November 2016, the bug fixes for camera-related crashes, new Xperia Home version, and other minor tweaks.

The Nougat-based Android OS introduces a lot of notable changes to the mobile operating system. This includes a split-screen display mode for phone, an Open JDK-based Java environment, support for the Vulkan graphics rendering API, seamless system updates on supported devices, and an experimental multi-window mode.

It boasts a redesigned notification which features a smaller row of icons for settings, inline replies to multiple notifications, and greater app control over notifications.

In addition to the that, the Nougat-based Android concept also includes the newly upgraded "Doze" power saving mechanism. This feature was first introduced in the early builds of the Android Marshmallow OS, Inquisitr reports.

The Android 7.0 Nougat was first introduced with the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, and Google Pixel C devices

As of now, the Nougat-based Android concept update is available only for German carriers Telekom, Vodafone, and Telefonica/02. Furthermore, the OS update has also planned for roll-out in the UK and Spain in the coming months, according to Teckibay.

VoLTE is a wireless standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones and data terminals. It allows the user to access HD voice calls and other real-time services.

Android 7.0 Nougat serves the seventh major version of Google's Android operating system. It was first released as a beta build on March 2016 and was finally released to the mainstream in August 2016.
