New Ways To Measure Water Quality Of The Great Lakes By Scientists
The Great Lakes are a very large body of water in North America. They are where the Niagra Falls are located. They are between the USA as well as Canada. It is very hard to measure the quality of lakes those large, especially since they are directly connected to the pacific ocean.
According to Crain's Detroit Business. An agency which is affiliated with both the nations where the lakes resides is trying to figure out newer and better ways for the water in the great lakes. They want to know whether or not the lakes are safe enough for people to indulge in activities.
Activities such as swimming, fishing, and even drinking. These are all recreational activities that are and should be encouraged in every country. Getting in touch with nature is an important part of nature.
There was a proposal which was created by researchers joint with the international Joint Commission. This mainly involves around waterways which are shared. According to the Washington Times, many scientists are giving their opinion.
They say that in order for them to completely say whether or not the water is good for drinking, they would not only need the measurement and testing of the treated drinking water, but the exact sources that the water came from.
Phosphorus flowing inside the lake could also be a major problem. Reason being that this element allows Aglae to bloom harmfully and plague the area. This is ocurring in 3 of the lakes already in the cluster of great lakes.
Scientists also say that the Asian Carp species must be monitored too since they are an invasive species and may cause the demise of the local species of the great lakes. There is a chance they may infest the great lakes. Hopefully all these measurements will be enough.
