His future is in Bayern Munich, but Robert Lewandowski still seemingly has his heart in Borussia Dortmund. The striker recently revealed that he hopes to end his tenure with the club on not only a positive note, but a high one. His goal? A trophy.

"My goal remains to leave Borussia Dortmund with a trophy this summer," Lewandowski said, according to Goal.com. "But we all know we have to improve. Of course, we had a lot of injured players, but we all saw that we have to give our all as a team in every game."

Of course that currently looks like a tough proposition for the Polish striker. Dortmund currently sits in third place in German Bundesliga with 36 points. The team trails Bayer Leverkusen for second by four points and is a whopping 17 points behind first place Bayern Munich; safe to say that this trophy is not the one Lewandowski will walk away with.

But there is hope. Dortmund is still in contention for the German Cup and the Champions League. Of course, the team would eventually have to face Munich to come away with either trophy; there are few that would bet against the Bavarian giants.

Lewandowski signed a contract with Munich in January. Despite his future, he has noted that he plans to remain true to Dortmund until the end of the year.

"A lot of people have claimed that I am no longer interested in playing for Dortmund, but I have shown that I am still keen to play for BVB. I want to give the fans a nice farewell gift."

He has scored 11 goals thus far this season.
