“Spider-Man: Homecoming” Parody Video with Ex-Spideys Gets More Than 1 Million Views in 2 Days
How would an actor feel if another actor reprised his role in a sequel movie? YouTube artist DrMachakil shed some light into this predicament with a hilarious video for the latest Spider-Man flick "Spider-Man: Homecoming." In the video, which has gathered more than a million views in just two days, ex Spider-Men Tobey Maguire react to Andrew Garfield reacting to Tom Holland who plays the new Spider - Man for the movie. It's sounds confusing but it certainly gets the job done!
The Wrap calls the clip a meta-reaction video which is actually a mash up of scenes from the past Spider-Man movies from Maguire and Garfield's time. DrMachakil was able to flawlessly integrate scenes to make the video look like it was Maguire reacting to Garfield with Garfield reacting to Holland for "Spider-Man: Homecoming."
Cinema Blend also reported on the funny YouTube video saying that this in reality, actors are curious as to how a new actor does his role in a sequel or a reboot. But truth be told, Andrew Garfield is not really that depressed that Tom Holland was chosen to be the next Spider-Man. The actor even told ET that he thinks that the sequel is great:
"I watched it and it's great! I think it looks great. I'm really excited to see it, I can't wait." Andrew also mentioned that he is a fan of Holland and was just excited to see the next movie.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" would surely be very different from the past versions since this movie will focus on Peter Parker's high school sophomore years. This may be the time he gets his super powers after being bitten by a spider so the plot centers on his heroic deeds while in high school.
Tom Holland's Peter Parker will meet other Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes in this movie such as Iron Man making it even more exciting to watch. Aside from Holland, actors Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover and Marshall Green will also star in the movie.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be in theaters July 2017.
