Avid android users likely heard the Google's 2015 program, Project Fi. It is the Google's solution to a lag network services in the mobile phones. In the other hands, it is a phone carrier that is being offered by Google and it works by giving people a mobile data service on the three mobile networks.

In unveiling Google's Project Fi, instead of taking the deal with three mobile networks, Google ventured in taking the chance in partnering with Sprint and T-Mobile. According to to Android Central, Google wants to offer cheap phone services to its consumers and users, it has a better coverage and it offers faster feeds than the other network options.

Users needs to acquire Project Fi

As per the report of Tech Times, Google's Project Fi service can only be available in Google's self-branded mobile phones like the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, and Nexus 6P. The users of these phone can now easily go to Project Fi's page, sign-up and then order a SIM kit from the site. After receiving the SIM kit, customers need to download the app of Project Fi on their phone.

However, the Google's self-branded phones need to be unlocked the variants, or else, it won't work with the service and the phones require an Android 5.1 Lollipop or higher to make use of the service.

Setting up the phone

After inserting the Sim card, Google will provide a detailed video pertaining on how to use the service. As users turn their phones on, they needed to follow the series of instructions onscreen and if this is successful, users can now activate the new Project Fi number or even transferring an existing number. Users needed to always check the latest version of the service (Project Fi), Messenger, Hangouts.

One thing that works best, is when the phone is always connected to a wi-fi network. By this, users can now expand coverage in places wherein it has a weak cellular network. Users can also set the project that has now on their phone to automatically connect to a secure and verified Wi-fi network.

The report stated that Project Fi needs to check regularly for more useful tools and for checking the current data usage. Meanwhile, the Signal Spy, a third-party app that also provides almost the same features and the report also claimed that it is also rumored to provide information faster than the Google's Project App.

The report further suggests that the domestic data roaming also incurs no additional charges for those who have been using the service.
