‘A Great Time to Be a New York Knick!’ Says Carmelo Anthony – Loses to Boston Celtics on Christmas Day
Carmelo Anthony was all positive when he said that this was a "great time to be a New York Knick" as his team braced for the Boston Celtics on Christmas Day. But it looks like that was not enough to carry them till the day as the Boston Celtics pulled out a win 119-114 to take a Christmas Day victory.
Fox Sports reported Carmelo Anthony's rise to fame saying that this was the franchise's highest level since 2012-2013. The Knicks have missed the playoffs for three consecutive seasons and is hungry for a win right now. It may not be aiming for the moon for the Knicks because of their good start at 16-13.
Anthony said that he is very excited to be part of the Knick's success and is awaiting their game at the Madison Square Garden in New York. He also mentioned that it is great to have the chance to play at such a historic day and of course against the Celtics. This win would boost their postseason standings and improve their chances to get the Atlantic Division title.
NBA.com reported Boston Celtics winning against the New York Knicks on Christmas Day. The game was tight at 112 - 112 with less than a minute on the clock. Boston fought hard by giving eight straight points to rally close to the Knicks. They only need a point to seal the deal.
Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford failed to secure a basket. But not until Carmelo Anthony attempted to make an isolation play, Avery Bradley blocked his shot swiped the ball away from the Knick. Jae Crowder was not too far behind; he stole the ball and made the shot.
The steal sealed the deal for the Celtics winning their last six games. As optimistic as Carmelo Anthony was, the Celtics won at their home court on such as special day. The New York Knicks will play against the Atlanta Hawks on December 29 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta Georgia.
