Chris Brown is apparently using his jail time quite wisely and productively, as it has been reported that he is collaborating with fellow inmate James DeBarge behind bars in L.A. county jail.

DeBarge once was an active member of the Michigan-based family group DeBarge, who became known with their 1980s songs "All This Love," "In a Special Way," "Rhythm of the Night," and "Who's Holding Donna Now?"

Living in adjacent cells, the two R&B singers have reportedly been writing music. Although they cannot see each other, they somehow managed to create three songs so far. Also, they are currently placed in a "segregated unit for high profile inmates."

Earlier this month, the "Loyal" singer was ordered an additional 131 days in jail after he admitted to a violation of his probation due to an altercation in Washington, D.C. He still has to attend therapy twice a week and submit to a random drug testing three times a week as well. A trial for the October felony assault charge in Washington, D.C. is reportedly pending.

Chris Brown's upcoming assault trial could result in further jail time as he was already under probation for assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. The assault charges from October caused a judge to revoke the 25-year-old singer's probation and he was later asked to leave an anger management rehabilitation center in November for reportedly throwing a rock at his mother's car when she visited.

In addition, Brown is reportedly dealing with a separate legal issue, as he recently sued Malcolm Ausbon. He was initially sued by the man from a pick-up basketball game after an alleged disagreement and altercation took place owing to a foul call. The "X" singer has since counter-sued with the claim that he was not involved in the incident and that Ausbon was attempting to extort him.
