Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is working on providing players with a massive open world they explore and tactically murder enemies. The game has brought in a lot of significant modifications to the series and its massive map is one of the biggest steps that has not only increased the scope of the game but the whole game itself. Ubisoft has out a detailed statement on the epic map of the game by making a bold claim that it is one of the biggest ever made by them.
Ghost Recon Wildlands Brings Out Realistic Locations Of Bolivia
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is set in Bolivia. The game setting not only offers realistic action but also a beautiful landscape that presents the game in even more realistic fashion. According to the Senior Communications Manager from Ubisoft, Giancarlo Varanini, the ideal Tom Clancy game setting is brought out not only by the cocoa plant industry and its implications on the Drug Cartels but also by the game's natural beauty as well as the diversity of environments. Varanini also said that such environments can be seen in a few other places in the world.
Adopting real world locations for creating video game settings has its own advantages and challenges. To deliver a gameplay that can be enjoyed the most, developers are expected to respect and present the setting in utmost realistic fashion.
Ubisoft Will Mirror Original Bolivia In Virtual World
According to a report by Attack of the Fan Boy, the team has worked hard on a recreation of various real landmarks from Bolivia in order to add things that would link the virtual version and the real country in more subtle ways. In order to achieve this, the team traveled to Bolivia for weeks and clicked over 15000 pictures. They also recorded over 10 hours of video comprising of conversations with the people in Bolivia that would help them to learn and mirror the life in that country.
The Game World Features
The Lead artist of the game Benoit Martinez added that it took more time to draw meaning out of those pictures, and videos than it actually took to capture them. According to MNG, This detailed work of the team has led to the creation of 11 different biomes, with 150 locations in arid deserts, mountains, dense forests, humid jungles, including villages, settlements, and landmarks.

In terms of size, the game is huge. Lead Artist Martinez also said that each of the artists in the team is developing a map that will be equal to a full-size world when compared to other games. Players can find out how massive the upcoming installment- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is going to be when it hits the PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PCs on March 7, 2017.
