Jaw dropping predictions and trends for space industry in 2017: Buzz Aldrin speaks
What 2017 may bring on the table in the area of space industry and technology is on mind of many. Apart from NASA there are a number of private space companies which are bringing big and ambitious plans on the table.
Fast Company along with Chad Anderson, CEO, Space Angels Network, throw light on major predictions and trends that are believed to be achieved in 2017.
Intergalactic Property Rights
The 1967's Outer Space Treaty stated that no country can claim any resources from space as their own. Nowadays, several companies want to somewhat change this notion.
Anderson stated that many private space industry companies want to claim or at least partly claim what they personally discovered on a space mission. This is so they remain enthusiast in investing in such space missions for longer period of time.
Space Tourism
Space Tourism seems really exciting but the audience is rather small right now. But it is slowly developing.
Scientists in agencies such as the National Aerospace Training and Research Center in Pennsylvania are further delving into the research to develop the steps of space tourism including increasing the number of people who can opt for such programs.
More Launches in Space
According to Anderson, moon has been a favorite destination for many space companies to launch their missions to. Companies like Astrobotic are already developing and collaborating with other companies to set up lunar missions.
Others like Blue Origin and Rocket Lab are testing out their projects to send satellites, trained astronauts and instruments to space.
Buzz Aldrin says
According to NBC News, Buzz Aldrin, the second human to walk on the moon, stated that there will definitely be a competition when it comes to development of human spaceflight systems.
Aldrin believes that companies like Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin, Elon Musk's Space X and Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic will undertake several space projects and will race into creating suborbital passenger service.
China has also become a frontrunner is space missions. It's expected that China will soon achieve the goal of building their space station and attempt lunar missions.
