The Chicago Bulls are planning to make a big splash this offseason in hopes of becoming a title contender again next season after having another disappointing playoff campaign this season.

The Bulls, who were eliminated by the Washington Wizards in the first round of this year's playoffs, are expected to pursue Carmelo Anthony this offseason, but the New York Knicks superstar might not be the only marquee player that they will try to acquire this summer.

Sam Smith of Bulls.com reported that the Bulls might also consider acquiring Kevin Love, who is expected to be on the trading block after informing the Minnesota Timberwolves that he intends to become a free agent after next season.

The Bulls might offer a trade package involving their assets outside of Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah to the Timberwolves for Love, then acquire Anthony via free agency.

"Say they did gut their roster except for Noah and Rose to get Love," Smith wrote. "Then they could use amnesty and make a case to Anthony to join Rose, Noah and Love. That certainly could be a winning combination even though you only add minimum players after that."

However, Smith noted that such scenario looks like a long-shot because the Bulls will have to convince Anthony to take a major pay cut, which is highly unlikely at this point.

"The larger issue is those three salaries are about $47 million. That would mean Anthony would have to give up about $65 million to leave New York and sign with the Bulls," Smith added. "Really, no one is going to do that. No winning would be worth that, especially as it would be hardly guaranteed with a four-player roster."

If the Bulls are really serious about pursuing both Anthony and Love, Smith pointed out that they will have no other choice but to give up Noah in any deal involving the Timberwolves superstar power forward.

However, the Timberwolves are expected to ask for more assets aside from Noah, considering the fact that Minnesota already has Nikola Pekovic and Gorgui Dieng in the center position.

The Bulls could also give up Taj Gibson along with future draft picks, and possibly, the rights to EuroLeague superstar Nikola Mirotic.

Do you think the Bulls will benefit from giving up Noah in order to acquire both Love and Anthony?
