Tuesday night marked the unveiling of NBC's "The Voice's" sixth season winner: 38-year-old Indianapolis singer Josh Kaufman.

Kaufman's win also landed his "Voice" coach Usher Raymond a first time win for his team, thus breaking the winning streak of judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton whose artists have won every other season prior.

Who were the other contestants to beat? Well, 20-year-old Christina Grimmie of Marlton, New Jersey finished third while 18-year-old Jake Worthington of La Porte, Texas came in second.

USA Today reports that prior to winning "The Voice" singing competition, Kaufman was an SAT tutor. He is married and has three children.

Upon the announcement of his win, Kaufman's family joined him on stage to relish the victory. Kaufman appeared shocked on camera as he tried to soak in the moment.

"I can't even talk," he told host Carson Daly after winning. "I'm overwhelmed, surprised, happy, relieved."

During a post show interview, Kaufman went on to describe the hours leading up to the big announcement on Tuesday night.

"It had been such a stressful night and morning, a lot of nerves and heart racing and waiting ... It felt like forever," he told reporters at a news conference. "It was mostly just anticipation and wondering what was going to happen next."

Next came Kaufman's coach, Usher, who expressed his joy over Kaufman's win.

"This is definitely a great way to close Season 6. It obviously gives a great reason and logic to come back and defend the title, but more than that, to change the idea of what type of winner and what it takes to win, the type of songs you choose," Usher said. "Josh put up an incredible performance and fight. ... He's a shining example of what you can do if you have determination, passion and commitment."

"The Voice" Season 7, which will gear up in the fall, includes returning judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine alongside newcomers Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani.

Since Usher hinted that the win is "a great reason and logic to come back and defend the title," it looks like we will also be seeing more of him in the future.
