Season five of "The Walking Dead" begins in October. The series has begun filming in Georgia, and according to its executive producers, the fun starts right at the premiere episode.

Robert Kirkman, creator of "The Walking Dead" comics and show writer and executive producer, has been back in Atlanta filming for over a week and feels like he "never left." Still, things on the set are different this time around.

"We're doing new and different and crazy and exciting things. And now I think the atmosphere is that we can't wait until we can start sharing things with people ... because we're really excited about what we're doing here," he told Entertainment Weekly. "We think we're making another magical season."

Kirkman also revealed that the first episode of season five will take off right where the season four finale left off. Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd said this episode is the one she looks forward to fans seeing the most.

"I'm really looking forward to the premiere and the reactions that the fans have once we're back on the air," she told the AMC blog.

It's also been confirmed that the beginning of the season will feature a lot of action unlike the start of season four.

"I think this show works best with a cycle or ramping up and ramping down and lulling people into a sense of security and speeding things up and keeping them on guard," Kirkman said. "I will say that we definitely start this season in an up cycle. ... So we're certainly changing things up in that respect, and we're gonna kind of hit the ground running this season."

Hurd also teased that the makeup effects will be fresh and new.

"They always manage to come up with something you've never seen before, and we try to surprise the cast with it also," she said.

Fans should be surprised as well since as Kirkman says, "There's been a lot more secrecy on set."

"There's always people crowding around where we're filming and trying to get spy spots. ... But for the most part we've been able to avoid that," he said. "This is the first time we've really finished a season and gone back to the same place for the next season, so that's kind of cool."
