There's no doubt that Amanda Bynes' recent behavior has been questionable, but this doesn't mean everyone has lost hope for her. Nick Cannon says he's here for the starlet.

The 27-year-old star has seen trouble after trouble for the past few months. After a slew of charges, ranging from DUI to smoking marijuana, the star still hasn't seen the end of it. Late in July, the star was placed under a two-week psychiatric hold for setting a fire on a Thousand Oaks home driveway. While all these have caused people to think that Amanda has gone mad, Cannon "genuinely" thinks Amanda is still a great person.

On Aug. 1, the rapper and comedian wrote an open letter to Bynes to show his support to a former co-star. Nick and Amanda were part of the Nickelodeon TV show "All That" in the '90s. According to him, the press has recently been asking too many questions about Bynes, whom he considers "family."

"I have been hit with an onslaught of questions about someone I consider family, someone I watched grow up, and someone I genuinely feel is one of the most pleasant human beings I have had the pleasure of meeting, Amanda Bynes," the husband of Mariah Carey wrote on his website.

Cannon noted that what his former co-star is going through is "no laughing matter." He then went on to describe how fame and fortune could be the perfect recipe for disaster if one does not know "how to navigate through the matrix."

"When a person is told all of their life that they are awesome, the best, the greatest and they are catered to every moment of the day...at some point you are bound to self-destruct," he wrote. "It goes back to that old saying; 'Too much of anything is bad for anyone'...When there is no balance in your life a person will always become victim to their reality or lack thereof."

The "Wild N' Out" host also noted that the media and those who pass judgment on Amanda have also been instruments to her downfall, calling the media "the ultimate magnifier."

"It's like if you have a delicate piece of tissue under the sun, that tissue is under INTENSE heat with nowhere to escape but once you place a magnifying glass over that tissue, it's bound to instantly burn up in flames. This is what I believe happens to many people in the public eye and we all sit back and judge these people for our own entertainment...And most of the time your assumptions and accusations maybe accurate but also inappropriate."

Talking about the importance of a support system, Nick also promised Amanda that he will always be here for the problematic star.

"So I say to my sister Amanda Bynes you're not alone. I'm here for you. I understand. I care and I appreciate you, because that's what family does and that's what family is for," he wrote on the post. "I'm here! Call me! Because I truly believe, the hand you're helping up today may be the one you're reaching for tomorrow."

Showing a different side of the usual humorous Cannon, he ended the write up with the famous lyrics of the Bill Withers song "Lean on Me."

"Lean on me when you're not strong and I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on. For it won't be long until I'll need somebody to lean on."
