What a guy!

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's ultimate display of humanitarianism may have dissolved his "bad boy" image in the media created by his questionable public antics in the past.

Just over a week ago, the Biebs was under fire for allegedly stealing a woman's cellphone after she attempted to take a photo of Bieber at Sherman Oaks Castle Park in California. Bieber responded to the incident with several tweets claiming that the phone theft reports were false.

He said, "I will continue to be the man my mother raised. I love people and I will try to be kind even when things are not fair. Don't believe rumors. "

He lated continued, "Thanks for those who stick by me and those that help me grow everyday. I love you."

Now, Bieber is showing us his love for people and his attempt to "be kind" with his recent $545,000 donation all in the name of charity. According to TMZ, Bieber's grand donation was in support of the amFAR foundation.

So what is the amFAR foundation and what is their cause?

The amFAR foundation, founded in 1985, is "dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. amfAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of HIV/AIDS research and achieving real breakthroughs. Since 1985, amfAR has invested more than $388 million in its programs and has awarded more than 3,300 grants to research teams worldwide," as stated on the amFAR website. This weekend, amFAR held a black-tie celebrity gala during the Cannes Film Festival with A-list guests in attendance including Leonardo DiCaprio, Heidi Klum, John Travolta and Sharon Stone.

Despite the millionaire guest list, TMZ reported that even the celebrities were stunned with Bieber's overwhelming charity donation. Prior to his donation, Bieber was asked if he was certain with the amount of his donation to which he replied, "Yep."
