Samsung is planning to stay one step ahead of Apple when it comes to screen display. The upcoming Galaxy S8 is expected to showoff the next-gen OLED display.

According to Forbes, Galaxy S8 is to be announced by the end of March 2017. Reportedly Samsung is planning to increase the display size of Galaxy S8 by shrinking the borders. The actual physical size of the smartphone won't be compromised.

OLED screen display in Galaxy S8 along with virtual buttons by skipping the physical home is one neat trick Samsung can pull with the upcoming flagship device. Reportedly, Galaxy s8 will come in two models- 5.8-inches and 6.2-inches.

As per Fox News, it is expected that along with OLED display Samsung will standardize on curved edges in Galaxy S8 as well. Right now Galaxy S7 does not have a curved display whereas S7 Edge does, and the unfortunate Note 7 did.

A source revealed to Forbes that the curved display will be more pronounced in Galaxy S8 than it did with Galaxy S7 Edge. Other leaks indicate that the new processors included in Galaxy S8 will boost the overall performance by 11 percent while battery capacity will be relatively conservative.

Rumors are rife that baseline storage of Galaxy S8 will be 64 GB. Expandable memory option will be available up to 256GB.

Other theories include a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A 12 MP camera will be mounted on the back while the selfie camera will be of 8 MP.

Apple is already behind Samsung with the OLED screen display. The iPhone 8 or iPhone x is said to have a screen size of 5.8 -inches.

Interestingly, it is rumored that Apple is also going to curved edges along with its OLED display. the only factor suppressing Apple is the current dependability on Samsung Display for the supply of OLEDs of iPhone 8 since.
